Europe with kids

You just get to a beautiful European city and what's the first thing you do? Go to a museum? Check out a few churches? Walk from one end of the city to another? No! You go to the pony rides of course! Well, at least that's what we did on our first day in Gothenburg. The pony rides in Slottskogen appear to be one of the few deals in town at a mere 20 SEK or $3.20 a pop. NOT a deal were the chicken breasts I bought a few days ago that were $20/pound or the mushrooms that were $5/pound. Mind you, this stuff is not labeled "organic," "super fancy," or "extra special." Lord help us if we decided to buy organic chicken. I'm thinking vegetarianism is sounding good, as long as we don't eat mushrooms. Or asparagus, that was expensive, too.

Nevada -
I love your Blog - I look forward to keeping up on your adventures this way.

You provide me with a new perspective to the price of food - I thought that Molly Stone's was expensive - you beat their prices on the chicken. I will be happy to send along some vegetarian recipes (and some Splenda)if you would like. Once you get into your permanent home, as you have nothing else to do with two children, you can always start a vegtable garden. (It actually my provide you with some diversion for the kids as long as you don't mind a little dirt.)

Take care - be happy- this is a wonderful opportunity and experience. K

I love reading your stories!
It gives me the chance to live vicariously since I won't be doing too much traveling in the next months... Well, maybe a trip to introduce Kai to SF and even Ulm.
Keep it coming :)
All the best,
Yael
P.S. Don't worry Julian, I like ice cream too.
